Default Computer Freezes When Streaming

Everytime I try to see or listen to any streaming media my system freezes. Sometimes it will freeze while I am in my email program (Earthlink Total Access) and even when the music plays while rebooting.
I have cleaned and reinstalled my chip drivers, un/reinstalled my video card and drivers and sound drivers. As far as I know all my software and drivers are current.
My system is as follows:
-XP Pro SP2
-AMD 2166MHz
-KT400-8235 Mobo
-VIA Chipset
-1024 RAM
This has been going on for a couple of months and I haven't been able to figure it out. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi darb, welcome to the PC Help Forum

Can you please check your Event Viewer to see if there is any errors under 'System' or 'Application'

Right click on My Computer and select Manage.
In the left you will see Event Viewer.

Got it. I seem to have a lot of Warnings on the MsiInstaller with event code 1001 and 1004.
