Unhappy Not accessing Partition

I have two western digital hard drives connected to my PC using Ide. One is 80gig and the other is 250gig. I have four partitions on the 250gig hard drive and everything was working just fine for over a year now. However just this past tuesday (October 31 2006) whenever I try to access one of the partitions it returns "H:\is not accessable"

I went to the computer management setup and noticed that it is reading the drive and the correct gig allocated to it but under " File System" it is blank. It should be reading NTFS like the others.

I have a ton of important stuff stored there and cannot afford to lose them.
Is there any way I can remedy the problem.......I'm kinda desparate.

Thanks in advance

I would get a tool that repairs your MFT, perhaps it became corrupted?
Unfortunately I don't personally know of a specific program.

Sorry DM, but not many computer users know what the acronyms mean...

MFT = Master File Table.
