Question formating help

Hello iam trying to format my hard drive, and would like some gudiance on how to do it. iam not a stranger to computers. i just dont want to screw my hard drive up.iam using windows XP Home edition -thanks

Are you mad? OK, I guess the question I need to ask is, what would you do with the HDD afterwards, do you intend to reinstall Windows or use it as a secondary HDD or something?

Then it simple. All you need to do is put in your installation CD. Shortly after the start of your installation, Windows Setup ask you if you want to format your drive:

so just put the windows cd in when i boot up the machine?
