Default [Answered] Start Up Problems!!!

Hi everyone, am not much of a computer whizz and hope someone can help with my problem.

I have an EI Systems 4405 Laptop running Windows XP, CPU Intel Celeron (R) 2.4ghz.

When trying to boot up it freezes on the 1st screen ie where it says American Megatrends, says F2 to run setup, when pressed it says entering SETUP but nothing else happens. Have tried F8 for Safe Mode, nothing. Took battery out, nothing. Tried inserting system recovery cd and restarting, nothing.

Can anyone help?

Hi Joey,

No there have been no hardware additions to the laptop and there are no removeable cards. Cant think of any problems with it before this happened except the occasional overheating and shutting down.

when you say over heating and shutting down do you mean your CPU is overheating then shutting down?
