Default pc crashing when booting up

hi im new to this forum and ive been having a problem with my pc now for a while and i dont know what is wrong with it. Its quite a new pc only had a year and recently it has been crashing. What happens is that when i turn my pc on every thing is fine until it comes up saying windows with the black screen and is loading. Just before that finishes the pc will just freeze and i have to restart the pc but it then crashes again. But if i go inside my pc and unplug one of my hard drives the one i use for games then restart the pc it will come on, but after a couple of days the problem happens again. Can someone please help me with this.

It sounds like you don't have quite enough power to power all of your devices. Check your power consumption here:

In the uk, a standard power supply is 300w, but it will tell you on the power supply itself. Your using approx 260w, and I haven't even added any cd-rom drives, usb devices, internal cards (modem, tv cards e.t.c), front LED's, or additional fans.

im using one dvd rom drive, the usb devices i use are my speed touch modem and my printer which i rarely use. Also what does volt mean cos on the front of my pc when i turn the switch saying volt down it dims the lights on my pc. I also have a fan on the front of my pc and two in the back will any of this affect my pc.
