Go here to Kellys Korner go down to number 12 - EXE (lnk and regfile) Fix for Windows XP. You will have to copy and then paste it into Notepad and save it as RegFix.reg then right click on it and select Merge...

Hi Lynn, once you've completed the regfix from arctos, can you please follow the Prework link in my signiture? Just to make sure you're clean as there is no reason why windows would just do that automatically.

Post the resulting log files back here and one of the security team will check it out for you.

Hya Arctos.

You are probably using something like Firefox? Some browsers can't handle .reg files and when trying to run them, the open as text instead.
Save them first to your HD and then double click on them. Or temporarely use I.E. to run the .reg file.
No need to completly re-create the reg files.

And also a direct link:

You don't understand, I am saying that you do not need to do that.

Why would you want to re-create a .reg file out of something that already is a .reg file to begin with?
