Windows XP/2000 - driver problems posted in the Operating Systems forums; my cd dvd rom is getting error message missing or corrupted drivers i tried to fix this problem but can't seem to do so. please help!...

ihave memorex 16x ddl in. and i also have sony dvd rw dru 720 a itried to find drivers was not sucesssful i also cleaned and repaired my registry. no luck

Hi bigbren, welcome to the pchf.

what error messages are you getting?

CD/DVD drives don't need drives in newer versions of windows...infact since windows 95 and that was only to make them work in DOS.

Unhappy driver problems
the error mesage says windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware the driver may be corrupt or missing.
