Default A radeon 9500 should be able to support a second monitor

Hello all,

I have a laptop with a 3ghz pentium 4 cpu, 512mb ram and a radeon 9700 graphics card (got it wrong in the subject, oops). im trying to watch videos on a tv im using as a second monitor connected with an s-video cable.
The video playback is very choppy but the sound is perfect. Im using windows media player classic to watch the videos. Iv updated the graphics card driver but it hasnt helped at all.
Im tempted to do a reinstall unless anyone has any other suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Bruce,

I've had this problem a few years ago, but I can't remember the fix. I'm sure it has something to do with your refresh rate. Try setting your refresh rate (Control Panel, Display, Settings tab, Advanced, Monitor tab) to 60hz. If I think of what the exact fix is, I'll post back here.

Hi Bruce, try setting your TV as your Primary Monitor...

Windows generally doesn't allow videos to be played on the 2nd monitor.
