Unhappy [Fixed] Windows Error, Pixel bars Appearing

Hi there, i was wondering if anyone out there had come across this before, but just within the past like 2 or three days i get these random semi transparent red pixelated bars appearing on my screen. They are about an inch wide by half an inch tall and were appearing not that frequently. This morning however, i turned on my pc and now they are coming fast and furious, infact in the time it taking me to type this message almost my whole screen is covered. Everytime i minimize a window or even drag something across one it dissapears only to re-appear like 2 minutes later on that screen.

they dont have a pattern as to how they come, but it looks like they are in designated columns

Tried running spyware, using spy-sweeper and adaware and did a virus scan with Trend-micro pc-cillin and they all came back negative.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it could be an overheating video card. Have you checked if the fan on it still works, and isn't glogged up with dust?
