Hello HelpPlease !
The first thing to do is not to panic or get frustrated....
The missing NTLDR thing is a complex issue. There are a multitude of issues that can cause this and you must look at each one of them until the problem is fixed.
The article you linked to is a good article but at the bottom of the page it says it is out dated and to link to a newer version.
Simple "ntldr is missing" fix with boot floppy or CD, then fix HD
The first issue is trying to understand what may have caused the problem.
Computer is booting from a non-bootable source.
Computer hard disk drive is not properly setup in BIOS.
Corrupt NTLDR and/or NTDETECT.COM file.
Misconfiguration with the boot.ini file.
New hard disk drive being added.
Corrupt boot sector / master boot record.
Seriously corrupted version of Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Loose or Faulty IDE/EIDE hard disk drive cable.
Process of ellimination:
1)Did you happen to leave a cd game or floppy in any of your drives?
2)when you first turn on your computer and it posts to the black screen with white letters (click on pause and it will freeze if it is too fast to see) does your harddrive show up as the primary drive?
sorry Bugsey! didn't mean to over step you! you just beat me to the punch
