Hey wataboutwar!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

Have you tried installing the updated drivers for your graphical card?

Ok,

uninstall the Cataylst Control Centre/ATI drivers...which you already have
remove any remnants with DriverCleaner Pro (i believe this is the name of the program)
and then install these...The Guru of 3D Download Section
They are omega "modified" drivers for ATI cards...but omega have been around and recommended for performance since the geforce2 range (at leasy 6 years now).

These drivers are less intrusive and give you a bit more performance.

CLI.exe is part of the Control Centre ATI supply with their Cataylst software, which also include the drivers.
