Hiya LilLisa
Well your boot up speed is mostley affected by programs that windows is booting at startup. Most of these you need such as virus scanners etc. To find out how to stop programs booting up with no need go to run and type msconfig and go to the startup tab at the top. Do NOT alter any other settings other than the startup settings. Un check the programs you dont want to start and click OK or apply. Please be careful doing this and only close programs you know eg not microsoft ones. If you do want to remove a old program go on your control panel/add and remove programs and that will tell you what you don't use very often. After that run a disc cleanup (or download an even better tool. i reccomend ccleaner but do not choose to install the yahoo toobar with it!) from the acessories/system tools and clean your temporary internet files. Then go on disc defragmenter from the same menu to keep your HD nice a clean. Good Luck and hoped i helped!

Another thing is in BIOS there is an option you can enable to "Quick Boot" which will skip the self-tests that windows performs on boot. This is probably enabled by default I think but if its not you will definently get some better speed from it.
