Default Double clicking drive opens 'Open With' companion

Hello, for some reason I have been cursed with this problem. I have looked all over the internet a million times and haven't found anything which fixes my problem.

When I double click on any of my removable storage devices in My Computer, instead of opening up the browsing folder it opens up the 'Open with' dialoge. (Where it asks me to select a program to open the
file)

Does anyone know a way to fix this ?

I really hope someone can help me, as my window is looking like a tempting launch pad for my computer

Hey burb!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

Interesting problem you got there. Can you right click on the drive and click 'Explore'?

Thanks for the welcome!

Yep, I can right click and open explore no problems. The drives work functionally, I can edit autoplay settings etc....

It's only when I try to double click it opens up 'Open with'.

That's nasty. Not sure but this might be spy or malware related.

It may also be worth while running a sfc

Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow
