Default [Fixed] AMD and Win XP Pro

This may seem a little trivial, but I am concerned that my AMD Athlon 2600 Barton Core CPU only shows as a 2000, (1500Ghz). I am using an Asus Delux 2 motherboard. I am running a duel boot, on 2 seperate drives, and both ststems report the same . Is there a setting in the Bios that needs to be changed. Any help would be most appreciated. graemep.

Hi Graeme, welcome to the PCHF!

You have hit the nail on the head.

Try updating your BIOS first, it may detect the settings automatically.

It sounds like the bios has not been set for the FSB to run at 166. What yours has done is defaulted to 133 (266DDR), it should be @ 166 (333DDR).

Pancake, thank you very much. I read you answer to my post, and immediatly ultered the setting from 133, to 166,and the problem was solved. Thank you again, and thank goodness for the great people like yourself for spending the time to help people who need it. Graeme.
