Lost the log in box (with my name in it) on the right side of screen where I am supposed to click to log on. Tried F8 to boot in safe mode, didn't work. Tried Operating System CD repair, that didn't work either. Sure hope I don't have to re-install operating system, will lose too much data.
Is it possible to create a ram drive to boot from that will give me access to the hard drive?

hey child85639!
What happens when you boot in Safemode? What do you actually see instead of the box with your name? Is it just lightblue surface? Blue |

I finally was able to log on in safe mode. Solved the problem by changing login to classic mode and that let me log in. Thanks
