OK here's the confusion
I have two drives in a machine
d:\ [drive 0] which in my computer management is stated at "boot"
c:\ [drive 1] which in my computer management is stated at "system"
The main drive used is D:\. What I want is to be able to remove c: [drive 1] altogether, or reformat it to use just as extra storage, which at present is not possible.
They are both have Windows XP Pro installed. All I have is an OEM XP disk. Can I do a repair install, if so how? or does anybody know of any other way to carry out this task.
Thank you so much in advance.

Hey bipbop!
So what you're currently running XP from C:\ drive? I think you're gonna need to reinstall XP on D:, then formatting C: for use as storage. You got an advantage, because you can back-up files to C: first, then place them to the new D: (which is at that time probably C: ), and reformat C:. But, what you're probably wanting to do is to keep D: as it is at the moment, but let it be "boot" and "system"? Blue Last edited by Bluefish; 10-07-2006 at 08:48 AM. |

Hey Bluefish
But, what you're probably wanting to do is to keep D: as it is at the moment, but let it be "boot" and "system"? This is exactly what I want to do, I don't want to lose all my downloaded and installed programs either. Is reinstalling and reformatting my only option? I was so hoping there was another way. Thanks |
