Just a general question about it. What does it really do? I mean, what are teh principals behind it. I know it checks through your hard drives and see if there's any flaws anywhere and if you've given it a specific parameter it'll repair it and so on.
So that's that. I just want to know what it really does, as in what it's programmed to do.

Hi Jawni,
The original version (that came with DOS) would go through every sector of the hard drive and detect whether or not it was corrupt or useable. It was a good tool as a first line of defense to remove the bad sectors...try and right them. Unfortunatly I believe they may have changed the code to fit it in with Windows XP...and lost it's goodness.
