Default WININET.dll error

I play games online and I have a program called Gamespy Arcade. For some reason it does not want to open. I get this
Code:
GameSpy Arcade experienced 'In Page Error' (0xc0000006) at address: 771B460B 01:0000360B in module 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\WININET.dll'
I'm thinking the wininet.dll is infected. How can I fix it?

I tried doing the prework but my ATF-Cleaner keeps freezing. Is it ok to skip that step? what do you guys recommend.

Hey Light!

You may also try to replace the DLL by this one:
DLL-files.com - wininet.dll, free download

I think it's not a big problem if you skip that step in the Prework.

I tried to copy and paste the new DLL from the site you provided, but it says I cant becaues another program is using it. What do I do? do it in safe mode?

Hi Light,

The best way to replace that file is to do it in recovery console. First try it in Safe Mode, and if that fails, then we can restore it to its original form from the Windows XP CD.

Let us know.
