Default [Fixed] Hibernate/Sleep problem

I have my power options set to go to standby after 15 min, and it used to work. I'm not aware of anything I've done to change it, but now when I let the computer sit unused for that time I get the following error msg.
"The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver."
I've checked that I have the latest driver, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the K/B with no effect. I even installed a more generic K/B and still get the msg.
Any suggestions?

Hi ddhaff, welcome to the PCHF!

It may be worth a shot to try this.

Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow

make sure you have your window cd handy.

Hey ddhaff!

What kind of keyboard/mouse have you got connected?

Keyboard = "Microsoft Internet Keyboard". Mouse = "Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical" I also tried a plain old keytronic k/b with the same results.
