Default [Fixed] NTLDR Not Found!

I get that message when I turn on my PC, I can't use it anymore because all it tells me to do is press Ctrl Alt Del to restart. Please help. I built my PC last year and I think an EXE may have deleted my stuff along with NTLDR.

Ok your going to need a Windows xp disc for this as we're going to need to do recovery ( you won't lose nay files doing this)

Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.

Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.

2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.

3.If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot computer, select the installation that you must access from the Recovery Console.

4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

5.Enter in the following commands

COPY X:i386NTLDR C:
COPY X:i386NTDETECT.COM C:
[where X=CD ROM Drive]
Take out the CD ROM and type exit

Ok I done all that and restarted only to be greeted with a new problem.

I didn't get the NTLDR error and it looked like windows was starting, but then it said "Windows cannot start because system32\hal.dll is missing or corrupt.

I am still getting the same error. I made another option at the OS selection screen by accident I would like to remove it if I can fix this error.

Boot from your CD and follow the directions below to start Recovery Console.

Insert the Setup compact disc (CD) and restart the computer. If prompted, select any options required to boot from the CD.
When the text-based part of Setup begins, follow the prompts; choose the repair or recover option by pressing R.

If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access from the Recovery Console.
When prompted, type the Administrator password. (if you didn't create one try pressing enter).

At the system prompt, type Recovery Console commands; type help for a list of commands, or help commandname for help on a specific command.

Most likely you will need to expand the file from the CD. The command would be expand d:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll. Substitute d: for the drive letter of your CD. Once you have expanded the file type "exit" to exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer.
