Windows XP/2000 - I need help with my xp password posted in the Operating Systems forums; i just got a realy nice IBM T-43 laptop that runs windows xp pro, from a some school sale in washington but it had no battery so i didn't know ...

Question I need help with my xp password

i just got a realy nice IBM T-43 laptop that runs windows xp pro, from a some school sale in washington but it had no battery so i didn't know it was password protected. it dosen't have a cd drive or a floopy drive. is there a way to reset the password without a boot disc or a password reset disc?

Hi Lone_wolf.

The T43 laptops are very nice and stable machines. Odd that you bought it without battery/cd drive however.

You should be able to pick up USB drives nice and cheap however.
Try this link here to get into windows.

thanks for the site GaRHaR but i need a way to get in without the boot disc or the reset disc, i have a external cd drive but i need power for it and i realy don't want to pay for the plug.

Unfortunatly i dont think you're going to have alot of luck unless you get the plug...you can try booting into safe mode and logging on with the administrator with a blank password
