Hello Everybody,
Hi, Iv'e got an HP computer that's about 5 years old, and rarley gave me any problems. However, one day I went to start it up, and initially everything looked fine, but then the screen just goes blank. I tried "Safe Mode", and "Last Known Configuration," and a couple of other things, but it just goes back to a blank black screen. I was able to get into dos, but the only drive I am able to read is C:. I called HP customer support, and I had to spend $59.99 for 45 minutes of worthless help, because they told me to go to bootdisk.com and download Win 98 OEM boot ini file. Well, if my computer is down, and it can't read any other drive other than C:, what else can I do? Please give me some advice, because I'm desperate! Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

That sounds like a big problem. :-( I'm really not a tech expert so I really dont know much. But someone will be around soon that knows about it. Good luck!

Can you please tell me what file Safe Mode gets stuck at? (it should tell you what file it's loading until it actually gets into Windows.
