Default XP Security Center Problem???

Hi I have Norton Anti Virus 2006 installed on my PC. When ever I boot up my PC it usually takes a couple of seconds for NAV2006 to load up and become operational. I have never had a problem before but occasionally when I boot up now a Security Center icon appears stating my anti virus is turned off - the warning icon usually disappears when NAV2006 becomes operational. The questions I have are:

Is my anti virus supposed to be operational as soon as I boot up my PC?

How can I stop the security center warning from appearing?

I don't know if this is connected to the above problem but about two weeks I performed a scan with Spyware Doctor and it stated it found a 13 examples of Trojan.Proxy.Small.CT infection in my registry. Listed below is the log of that scan:

Does the above registry entries have anything to do with my problem?

Hello Newfan!

That pretty much is operational as soon as it boots. That's normal. The fact that only sometimes you get a message from Security Center means that sometimes Security Center loads before Norton. There's no specific order to them loading, though I think the Security Center generally will come first.

There is a way to turn off that message, however it would be better to leave it on. Although it may be a nuisance at start, it will be beneficial to have it on, since it will alert you if some malware disables your AV or it becomes corrupt.

If ya still wanna disable the message, I can help. Just let me know.

Does the above registry entries have anything to do with my problem?
No, but you might wanna post a hijackthis log in the spyware/adware forum just incase you still have some nasties on your computer
