Windows XP/2000 - sp2 problem posted in the Operating Systems forums; my pc keeps on freezing everytime i have successfully installed sp2..?...

Hi ikar, can you please follow these instructions.

Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow

once completed, retry sp2

Have you tried pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete see if anything's hogging the resources, or does it freeze so you need to restart?.

Hello ikar!

I think we need to know the situation a little more in-depth...

Could you answer these questions please:

1. After you installed SP2, were you able to boot your computer successfully?, or when it got to the blue Window XP screen did it just say:

"Please Wait..."?

2. If you got into Windows at all after installing SP2, does it freeze after all your programs load, or does it freeze after you try to open something?
