Windows XP/2000 - Windows messanger vs Msn messenger posted in the Operating Systems forums; Okay..so I have windows xp office edition...I have windows messanger working,thats all good, But I'd rather have msn messanger working...I install it...It starts up and then freezes,I've tried a number ...

Question Windows messanger vs Msn messenger
Okay..so I have windows xp office edition...I have windows messanger working,thats all good, But I'd rather have msn messanger working...I install it...It starts up and then freezes,I've tried a number of methods of installation and nothing seems to work,what I need to know is; do I need to format and remove windows messanger from my windows installation completely and is that even possible?

Or is there something else that I can try?

So sick of windows messanger !!!!

HELP!!!

You can remove Windows Messenger by running this at the Run prompt. Its easier if you copy and paste the command though:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
