Flippin heck! It has taken me the best part of 3 hours to rid my registry of all Paint Shop Pro items….and it has worked – hurrah!

I no longer get those annoying installation screens asking me for this disk and that disk however, I am still tracking down one small but very persistent error, but I will prevail.

Thanks for all your support guys.

A happy PC user – for the time being!

Glad to hear its sorted, i thought it was going to be a never ending problem , now that your fully virus free you should read http://www.pchelpforum.com/hijackthi...afterwork.html

and greatly limit the risk of reinfection.

Although i must say it's been a pleasure to help fix.

Good luck in the future

Bugsey

Great news --yes it is a pain going through all this... but you get some sense of satisfaction from beating the odds, too. Beats the daylights out of reinstalling Windows and everything else again-- especially for sofwtware addicts like me. Just takes forever. Of course-- if i was as religious about system backups as I should be I would not face this issue. Something I need to work on in my "spare time" ...whatever that is.

There's nothing more annoying than an issue like this one... makes you clench your teeth, every time that popup happens.

One word of advice-- once you have fixed that last error-- back your registry up AGAIN and delete the 1st backup-- that way you don't restore the WRONG one in case of a later issue.
