Default pc randomly freezes when downloading
hi i have a 3.2ghz pentium 4, 512mb ram,windows xp, my net conection is lan wireless, ive have avg and norton antivirus and spybot s&D and still can't figure out what is wrong, i'm just downloading a file and all of sudden the computer just freezes, and ive my wmi performace is on manual so it's not that xp error, please help.

Welcome to PC Helpforum!

What browser are you downloading the file with?
What kind of file are you trying t download.
Do you get a blue screen when your computer freezes, or are you just no longer able to do anything.

Also, I wouldn't recommend using two Anti-Virus programs at the same time, but that's something we can come back on later.

i use both firefox and ie, i just used panda active scan and it found a nds.exe virus, and has removed it, i googled it to see what this virus does but can't find anything in detail.
it hapens on most big files like zip, rar, movies, and when it freezes, i am no longer able to do anything, it freezes sometimes when i'm looking at a online movies eg on youtube.com or something like that, also it freezes on flashget when i use that to download, i only just downloaded avg, because norton didnt find anything.

it's still freezing, that nds.exe has nothing todo with it, also im seeing a box saying theres something wrong with my .net passport, and my conection keeps disconnecting randomly

I agree with Bluefish about running 2 anti virus programs too...it leads to bad things.
