Default Video Problems/Freezing

Hello, I'm asking this question on behalf of my Mother whos PC is having a bit of a problem.

Ok, Whenever she tries to play Video's, whether it's through WMP, AOL or even videos that are on websites. Her PC Monitor goes black for a few seconds, the video doesn't play. This repeats for the duration of the video.
In some cases her PC even freezes.

This is probally some sort of Codec or Driver problem. But I don't know how to go about fixing it. If anyone has any advice it would be greatly Appriciated...

Thankyou.

Andrew.

Hey Andrew!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

Can you provide us some more information on what kind of computer we're dealing with?

What operating system is on it?
What kind of graphics card is in it?

Thanks,
Blue

go into google and type in aida32 , download that software and go into computer>summary and scroll down to where the graphics are and the graphics card name should be on blue , scroll you mouse over it , there should be a "driver download" link! click on that and get the drivers , if the problems persist please tell me

The PC is Microsoft XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.

Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.66GHz
2.66GHz, 512 MB of RAM.

Nvidia GeForce FX 5200

I'll try that software
