Ohh well you can stick in the cd and use a program like rockxp to find the cd key.

but i cant download it on the lap top cant get on internet ??

That file is small enough for a floppy. Otherwise, you can put it on an USB stick or CD-ROM.

can i just delete all viruses easly or reinstall the stuff it deleted but how do i know whats gone??

Howdy stevenh,
That is the problem. If you have a virus or 2 or more you may end up deleting system files as you go along.
As Bluefish suggested just download rockXP and put it on a cd/r and put the cd/r into the laptop to retrieve your xp key. Write it down and install fresh...
