Question Boot (dos)screen

Hi Guys hoping your weekend is going good..

Okay MY Q...On XP-Pro ..All Windows Updates etc blah blah!!
Following a few months of nags from Microsoft that I needed to update my System Bios and also same advice from PC PitStop I did just that ..
Before it would from pressing power on button go direct to desktop .. No bios /driver load screens etc ..
Now on powering on PC I get a dos screen(black with white text)giving list of dirvers etc.grrrrrr! whilst this isnt effecting my computer its just annoying and not how it was ... I went into "msconfig" and opted for Selective Start Up , still no joy ..........

Just wondering , hoping theres a remedy for this so it can be as before ie..POwer on straight to desk..
Thanks

When you updated your bios, it changed some settings that will have to be reset. Youll have to go into bios setup at boot. Look for boot options, and something like"Boot time diagnostic screen" , and disable it. Save and exit. How you get into setup depends on which bios you have, usually pressing del, f2., or f1 . Look in the bottom left corner during boot and it should tell you.

Hello uncleed .so kind of you to take time out to try and help me and is appreciated.
Im pretty savvy with my bios but despite looking and searching through each and ever allowable category NO way can I find anything that relates to Boot Diag etc ..only options I have are changing boot devices ie..HDD .cdrom ..card readers tec... mine Ive set in that order.
Anyway its livable with I guess..just me being fussy ..woulda been nice to not have it though!!!

Sorry, didnt mean to insult your intelligence, but we dont know how much you know unless you tell us. Im not familiar with that bios, maybe someone else is, and can point you in the right direction. Their website may have info to tell you if theres an option to turn that screen off.

One other suggestion, if you havent already done it. If everything else is working like you want it to, write down all your settings, and reset it to default, see if that gets rid of it. But i agree with you, if it changed after the update, seems like there`d be a setting to change it back. Good luck.
