Default Windows Explorer problem

Whenever I try to open up windows explorer (i.e. My Computer, Control Panel, My Documents, etc.) The taskbar disappears for a few seconds and then everything is back to normal...except the window won't open. Any help would be appreciated.

Hya FadieZ.

Give this a try first:

go to start / run and in the run window type in:
sfc /scannow >enter
Have you XP CD in youre drive, and it'll run itself, replacing any missign or damaged protected XP files.

If that doesn't help then try the "Prework" (link below in my sig) and post the logs when done.

O.K. I'm now scanning the files, but it seems like IE isn't working either. Looks like I have a bigger problem, possibly malware or something.

That's what the Prework is for, to check for malware. So we should know soon enough if that is what is causing it.
