Default exiting safeboot:minimal(alternateshell)?

my laptop keeps re-booting to the cmd.exe prompt as i accidently set the safe mode to safeboot:minimal(alternateshell). Despite pressing F8 on re-boot and selecting all the other boot options, the PC keeps re-booting to cmd.exe. How do I boot to XP from here?

Please Help

Hya Wideboy, welcome to PCHF.

If you go to start/run/msconfig, and then on the Boot.ini tap, is safeboot ticked? If yes, then remove the tick, press apply and reboot your pc.

Or if not, on the General tab, select normal startup, press apply and reboot your pc.
