Default Temps and Compress

Hi,

I have 2 questions that I hope someone can answer.

-1- Is it possible to find all temp files and folders and safe to delete them?

-2- WindowsXP Disk Cleanup program has "Compress Old Files". What are the old files or how can I see what they are?

well ...... I think I can help you with your first question ....

to go to your temp files folder .... do the following ...
Start >> Run ... type this command <<%temp%>>
and you can safely remove all this files to free your disk space ...

Hi Tarrifist

If you check out the prework link in my signiture, there's a program called ATF-Cleaner which cleans out every temp folder on your computer.

In regards tot he old files....Windows just goes around looking at non-critical files that haven't been used for X amount of time, and compresses them...it's a good way to save space, but at the same time it takes longer if there's a program that requires one file...it needs to uncompress it andthen access it.

Thanks for the help.

I was just wondering about the TEMP problem. It seems to me I must always used a 3rd party program to clean up XP.

Thanks again.

Hi Tarrifist, you dont needa 3rd party program...but we suggest these programs as it makes the job 10 times easier and 5 times quicker.

In my experience, people generally want action faster and easier, rather then doing it the long and slow way.

But, I know what you mean about having to get things to do what Windows should be capable of already
