My darn laptop, it's dead again!
I turned it on, and the regular blue screen came up with the windows icon (not the evil blue screen), and a window pops up and says something about the registry key being recovered by a log or duplicate key. Seems good, right? Well, I click 'yes' and it just stops there. The list of accounts doesn't even come up. Could someone please help me?
Something like this happened before, except it was about lsass.exe. I thought I was more careful (i had avast! antivirus, ZA firewall, and I did scans with AdAware SE Personal once a week), but i guess not! please help...
I don't know if this will help, but my specs are...
Compaq presario 2100
WinXP SP2
Intel Celeron 2ghz processor
192 MB RAM (well, technically 256, but the videocard takes 64mb)

Ok, no problem. Can you try something....
Re-boot the PC...as it's starting up keep tapping the F8 key until you get to the "Safe-Mode" selection screen. Select "Last Known good configuration" and let Windows start.

Nope, no go. I already tried that, and safe mode too. The same thing happens both times

So does anyone have an idea, other than a repair install?
