Default [Resolved] OK so heres a good one! windows changing colour!!

Laptop Toshiba Portege R100
O.S. Windows Professional (Clean re-load with all updates loaded)
All drivers downloaded from Toshiba site.
Cause of re-load new hard drive fitted.
on start up the windows “WELCOME” screen there should be 3 coloured bands, top band dark blue middle band light blue (with welcome logo) bottom band should be dark blue but it keeps turning white! (Intermittently) just the bottom band
When I select “My Computer” what should be a light blue border around the boxes marked SYSTEM TASKS, OTHER PLACES, and DETAILS turns’ black (just the border) the mouse will only move with a slow jerky motion in the MY COMPUTER box it moves fine when I take it out of the box onto the desktop.
Re-loaded twice, no viruses everything else seems to work O.K.

Hi trebby. Had to read your post like an opticians board there!

Ok mate, two things. First, have you checked that your graphics card driver is up to date and sufficient? Also, have you changed your display properties to see if it makes a difference?

Failing these two, you may want to do the 'prework', located in my signature and post your logs for us.

Hi,
I have loaded the latest driver from the Tosiba Web site.
The disply settings are set to 1024x758 Changing them makes no difference.

This is a good one!

Have you completely updated windows?
Tried to upgrade DirextX?

Try Start -> Run -> sfc /scannow

Not sure why this would be happening, but lets get the windows install out of the way and make sure it isn't corrupt already (and even though you've installed it twice, it might still be the cause of the problem).

Ok, will mark as resolved for now - if the issue comes back...come back too

Also, I said sfc not scf. Not sure if that was just a typo or not, just for future reference
