Unhappy [Fixed]Internet Sites Being Blocked?

Hey guys, sorry, not too sure where to post this

My internet seems to be blocking some sites, such as www.ign.com and www.ebaumsworld.com, i've been told to install Mozilla Firefox, which i have, but these sites are still blocked, i've fiddled around with the internet options and stuff to try and sort it out, but so far nothing

I've also been told to download Spybot - Search & Destroy. which i did, it got rid of a lot of useless stuff, but the sites are still blocked

I'm starting to think it may be because of this "Acceleration Pack" i downloaded a few days ago, http://www.roadside-software.com/downloads/Pack.exe, later on on the day which i downloaded the pack, it hadn't made a difference, so i uninstalled. The blocked sites have only been blocked since i'd installed the pack...

Any ideas on how to get these sites accessable again?

Thanks in advance

Also, i don't mind talking over msn to speed stuff up

Hya Patrick, welcome to PCHF.

See if this helps:

Download the Hoster from here. Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program. This will restore the original Hosts file.

And also follow the instructions in the 'Prework' link below and post the logs please.

Think i've done this wrong....I couldn't access the internet while i was in safe mode, so i didnt realise what i had to do, i took the actions on Ewido, instead of putting in Quarantine...Also, i had taken actions, the saved report was before i took them...

Here's the results anyway

Edit: They're to long for the post, what should i do?

To access the 'net in safemode you will need to select "Safe-mode with networking".

If you need me to post the first scan with Ewido, i'd need to be able to post it in more than one post, 'cause it's 600,000+ characters...

1) your router is blocking some traffic
2) your Internet Service Provider is blocking this traffic
3) the sites you are trying to visit are blocking your IP address.
4) all the computers in you house are 'infected' with the same problem.

first of all i should try to find out if your modem is blocking traffic by for example the firewall.
