I have a .daa image file which I need to burn and boot from. What (free) program can I use to do this? Will there be any problems burning/booting/reading this disc? I've just never heard of this type of file before, so I wanted to be sure.

That is a Poweriso file:
http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=daa http://www.poweriso.com/ Not a free app I'm afraid, and I don't know if there are free apps that can handle that file.

If it is supposed to be a bootable image, and its not corrupt or anything then yes you should be able to boot of it without problems.
