Default My PC just restarted erraticly without warning,

I just had a fatal error in my PC to do with these files according to an error report :

C:\DOCUME~1\Chris\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER321b.dir00\Mini 081306-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Chris\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER321b.dir00\sysd ata.xml

Can someone tell me what these files are and what I should do with them. I have located the 1st file and have deleted it (The only thing I could think to do) in the list but I cannot find the second one.

According to the error report there are drivers in my PC that are not suitable for windows and can cause the computer to erraticly restart or display a blue screen with meaningless code on it.

Help with what I should do about this would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Welcome to PCHF

Those files are the log entries for your errors;

1) Do you have any yellow exclamation marks next to hardware in Device Manager?
2) Read THIS
3) Has this happened before or recently/once? Did you add or install any new hardware or software in the past few days?

Hi, No, havent installed any new hardware at all. This is the 1st time it has happened although it has crashed once or twice due to faulty modem drivers which I reinstalled. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to the forum Chris.

From the naming convention this "Mini 081306-01.dmp" file has used, it appears to be a "dump" file created by windows after a crash on the 13th of august, 2006...and it was the first crash that day.

The other file is a .XML file - which is a language created by Microsoft. I forget what it stands for at the moment, but a few programs use it, and even more programs use it - it could be anything...but as it's called "sysd ata.xml" I'm going to assume it's a file that has scoured your computer, and posted it on the internet as a survey somewhere...but I could be wrong.

However, have you read the link that Hengis has provided?
