i ran that speedfan.....the results were.
fan1: 2766 rpm
fan2: 0rpm

temp1: 39C
temp2: 44C
HD1: 35C
temp1: 44c


they all had green ticks next to them......could it be my cd/dvd??? it wont play anything....it thinks ther is already a cd in there....its a samsung sd 612 if that helps. thank you to everyone

them temps are fine try unpluging the cd/dvd drive that is not working the problem and then see if the computer stop freezing randomley run it like that for a little while. if it works all fine then it is the drive and it's iver broken or not setup right some where

but in my hardware list is says that the device is working properly....i dont understand????

your hardware list is not always honest you know ....

i had a similar issue before ... my lan card wasn't working and the device manager listed it to be fine .....
so ... try to unplug your DVD drive ... and try again ...

i have already tried that.....how do i change it to my master drive insted of my slave?

i have tried to upgrade my firmware fro the samsung website but when i load the update it stops responding.....any suggestions?

so hang was the computer working all right with the drive not plugged in?

if it does not respond or crahes to the firmware update then it probley means the drive has diead but see what some one else ses about that it sound right to me but it better to have more than one opionion
