Default Disk Defragmenter won't Start

Hi Guys! I'm trying to do a defragmenter on my C drive but it prompted me " Disk defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: c drive. Please run Chkdsk/f. I tried running "Check Now..." and it prompted "The disk Check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some windows files on the disk. The files can be accessed only by starting Windows. Do you want to schedule at start up...." What should I do? I tried to reset but its still the same.

Hi shellfish

If you goto Start -> Run -> type in cmd and push OK

Then type in chkdsk /f and it will give you the same message, restart your computer and it should automatically start it up.

Hi Shellfish, you could always re install Disk Defrag

Go to My Computer,
Click on Tools
Folder Options
then scroll down and find an option that says "Show Hidden Files and Folders", click this
Click Apply
Click Ok

Go back to my computer and double click on your C drive.
Double click the WINDOWS folder
Find a folder called inf and double click on it
right click on dfrg.inf and click Install
