Hi Migelloh, it's most likely just the codec WMP is trying to use is incorrect.

Try re-installing your DivX codec first and see if that helps, then we'll know if it's being caused by that or not.

Hi Migelloh,

Did you try it before you did any updates to see if you got this red hue?

GaRHar is right, the most likely cause of this would be a codec. The the overlay, used to bring up this video is also controlled by your graphics driver. This can sometimes be set in your display settings. What graphics card do you have?

I have a GeForce FX 5200 AGP. it may be that and it may be my windows. cause it did work the video i mean. when i cleaned my comp out right out of installalation i have a video saved in my partition drive and i played it and no hue it was using the older version of WMV and no graf. patch.. and after the patching of my vid card and WMV 10 i did them both at the same time so idk what would be the prob. reinstall WMV?

So it really does look like a codec problem.

Can you try to install the following codec package:
Download details: Codecs Installation Package for Windows Media Player 6.4

You could also try un-installing Media Player like you suggested. -In Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components.

The following is unrelated to the codec, but something else you may want to also try:
- Right click on your desktop and go to Properties, followed by the Settings Tab.
- Click on Advanced, followed by the GeForce FX 5200 tab.
- Click on Color Correction.
- From the Apply color changes to section, select Overlay.
- From the color profile, select Advanced Mode

Try to change your overlay settings from the graph above whilst your playing a video.
