Hi ive just reinstalled windows xp pro and my scandisk has vanished it dont kick in at startup when my pc has not been shutdown properly and its not in system tools anyone any ideas cheers Rob

Also my start menu and taskbar along the bottom keeps freezing and not letting me go into my programs this is the first time ive had this problem after formatting my pc any ideas on this cheers

I suggest you redo the install but this time remove the partition (and then re-create it) before formatting and installing XP.

Cheers mate worked a treat taskbar dont freeze now but still cant find scandisk is there a command i can type for it cheers

Great, what happens if you right click --> tools tab - on your C drive in My Computer? What is listed there/available?
