when i open a folder that i have on my desktop sometimes , well alot of times my computer hangs and i can't do anything other than ope windows task manager and see whats what.

I've noticed drwtsn.exe was running so i stopped it. it refreshed my desktop, closed the folder that was open and i could use the computer again.

Now everytime this happens i can only solve it by stopping drwtsn.exe (sometimes more than one drwtsn.exe is running) in task manager.

As you can imagine it driving me nuts.
my windows xp is up to date

Any help?

First of all welcome to the forums my friend!

Sounds as if it could possibly be spyware, slow or hanging programs can be a sign of that. Why dont you click on Prework in my Sig and post the logs. Then we can see if its malware, and if its not then your computer will be that much more protected. :-)
