Unhappy [Answered] Swapping partitions?

Hi,

I just formatted my computer and I realised that my C drive is not called C: instead it's called D: Before I formatted my computer, my drives were like this Local Disk C: and HP_RECOVERY D: Now it's the other way around HP_RECOVERY C: and Local Disk D: How do I get it back like before?

Thanks in advance.

unfortunatly you can't...not easily anyway.

Basically you can't change the windows partition as it will mess with all the installed files for windows.

OK I'll just delete the HP_RECOVERY drive =\

Anyone here heard of slipstreaming xp cd before? Cause I got Windows XP Pro 2002 CD and I hate to get all the updates again.

Yes, slipstreaming is a very good way of getting a custom install of Windows XP off the bat. My old Windows XP (32 bit) cd ended up being almost 1.5gb, with programs and drivers that I had it installing automatically...it's alot of effort to do drivers and programs though. So SP2 and hotfixes is good...

Here's what looks like a good guide on how to do it.

If I slipstream my CD, would I still be able to use my cd key?

Hi henry. As long as it's the same version of XP (Home or Pro) you should be able to.

uuhhmm that may be confusing...

If you have an XP Pro CD key, it should work with XP Pro SP2 slipstreamed and visa versa for Home.
