Default A question

I don't have the Windows installation disk, but, when I right click the C: drive, one of the options says 'format'. If I clicked that, do you think it would format my drive successfully, or would I still need the installation disk for it to work right?

Hi Ryan. No.

To format C: (which is generally the Windows drive), you need to be in DOS, as windows can't delete itself.

Formatting also does not include reinstalling. A format cleans the drive of all the FAT (File Allocation Table) and installation puts the files back.

Hope this helps.
