Default XP SP2 installation issue

Hi guys. I just downloaded Service Pack 2, went to install it, got right through to the end, and then i got a message saying It was not installed "Access Denied"" or something. Then it had to remove SP2, and reinstall SP1..Then i think i got a message saying "Only updated partially and Windows may not work properly"..Then my PC restarted automatically. Does anyone have any idea why i get this Access Denied message?. Thanks in advance.

No, I thought that might have been the problem actually, but i dont know how to log on with the Admin account though. I did a search and found something on Microsofts website displaying info on troubleshooting with the installation and found my problem there.. I followed the steps, and had to make changes to the registry, but to no avail. How do you log on as Admin account? Thanks!
