Question system trashed

I am running windows xp pro and it got trashed. I have created a dos 6.22 boot disk from bootdisk.com and booted to DOS. when I try to reformat my c drive DOS does not recognize it. Is there something I need to add to my dos boot diskette to enable to let me reformat my c drive?
