Default Networking Problem

Hi Everyone

I'm a newbie to this forum so please, take it easy on me if I come out with something silly.

Can anyone please help me. I'm having a problem trying to set up a wireless network through 2 laptops and a desktop.

The specific problem is that one of the laptops (we'll call it laptop A to make this less confusing) and the desktop can not access the shared files or folders on the second laptop (Laptop B).

I am running WinXp on all comps. All 3 comps can access the interent. Both laptops can acess the desktops shared folders and the desktop can access Laptop A's files. But neither the desktop or laptop A can access laptop B's files.

When viewing the work group computers, all 3 are listed on all computers.

I've run a windows troubleshooter and checked everything and it can not solve the problem.

I've did a ping on all computers. When I try to ping to Laptop B it comes back with the message 'Request timed out'. But gets the info for the other computers.

Can someone please help me with this problem??

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for your reponse. I've tried disabling the firewall and anti virus protection and there's no change, still can't get access.

Any other ideas?

Cheers

check to make sure the file is shared with no $ sing on the end because that should hide it to other computers.

then there is only one othere thing it's upto you if you do it but try runing the windows networking wizard on laptop b agen to see if that works but othere than that some one esle might think of some thing else it might be.

What do you mean by can't access the files?

It comes up with a message saying "Access Denied" or it can't connect to the computer at all? or it doesn't find any shared folders?
