Default [Resolved]move 98disk to XP for space

Hi again people, ive got this old pc here with an unactivated copy of 98 on it(no product key).
Im not sure why it was never used.can get in safemode on it but thats all, normal boot goes to prduct activation screens.
Anyway ive already used the ram out of it on our M.E(same pc`s),so now i was thinking i might as well USE the rest eh.
ALL i want to do with it is wipe it and use it in here for extra space.I`ve got the required mount and the extra power and connecting leads inside this so all i need is to know the easiest BEST way of doing this.
The floppy on the 98 DOSENT work and i believe thats how i`d have wiped it clean with the startup disks i have(or is there another way on it??)
Ive done the reading up and ive gathered there is NO one way to do hence the reason im here.
If somebody could spell out the simple way to go about this i`d be really gratefull.
I believe i already could manage it if i just jumped IN.....BUT!!!
I already know how to change the little blocks to change it over to a slave drive as i believe i`ll have to and theres obviously nothing ON it im bothered about............Just dont want to kill THIS (IF)i can help it.
Cheers in advance for ANY pointers

Default impatient as ever

Could`nt help myself....if ive done something wrong im sure somwbody`ll tell me eh.
I took the thing out the old pc ,reset the little blocks too "slave"
Stuck it in this and it was all done for me.....All i did was format the thing once it was booted up.
NOW i seem to have drive"e" with a nice big FULL purple pie chart.
Not that i`ll ever need it.....just fancied trying it for the sake of it.
Cheers...........that was fun

Just one question...it`s there,it`s working,it show`s up as"E"..IS IT fine just to leave like that for storing more programs and stuff??????????

Hi XPOD,

Well done with the drive swap. That drive could be very useful to you in fact, if you ever decide to reformat your main computer you can store important files on it so that they don't get wiped along with your Windows drive.

I'll mark the problem as [Resolved].

Default thanks

So if something was to go wrong with my "c" drive like infection or some major
calamity that there was NO way back from THE slave one would still be fine?
And i could just reinstall from that1386 directory ive copied over????????
(obviously i`d need to swap the boot order around....is that right??)....
SORRY.......JUST WANT TO BE 100% SURE
