Default Hair tear out time! Toshiba R100 external cd trying to load XP

Hi,
Before I start the monolog may I just point out that I really don’t know a lot about computers, changing the hard drive was about it! If you reply please keep it simple!

I have a Toshiba R100 trying to load Xp with a Mobile Toshiba pcmcia cd rom ( 2793020)
Hard drive packed up so I replaced it, thats where the problems started.
I have run round all the sites downloading numerous drivers for the pcmcia cd rom they all say " this is the driver that will work!" none do.
I have now formatted the drive again so its blank.
Help, Where do I go from here ?
Regards, Brian.

Have you got the CD Rom set first in the BIOS (either Del or F2) ON BOOTUP.

Hi Trebby, for what hardware exactly do you need the driver for?

HI Trebby91,

Welcome to PCHF!

Silly, perhaps, but have you checked to see if the CD was scratched or dirty?
